Meta-analysis on Dapagliflozin and BP control in type 2 diabetes

<h2 id="background">Background</h2><ul><li>Dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, is widely prescribed for glycaemic control in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and has demonstrated additional cardiovascular benefits, including blood pressure reduction.</li><li>The magnitude of its anti hypertensive effect remains to be clarified.</li></ul><h2 id="objective">Objective</h2><ul><li>To evaluate the effect of dapagliflozin 10 mg on blood pressure in patients with T2DM and hypertension.</li></ul><h2 id="methods">Methods</h2><ul><li>A systematic search of PubMed, Em base, and the Cochrane Library was conducted to identify eligible RCTs.</li><li><strong>Primary outcome:</strong> Office systolic (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP)</li><li><strong>Secondary outcomes:</strong> 24-hour SBP and DBP.</li><li>Pooled mean differences (MD) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated using a random-effects model.
