Buang-ngad Dessert (Mixed Grain Dessert)

Ingredients and seasonings

  • 100 grams of mixed grains (boiled)
  • 100 grams of bananas (boiled)
  • Taro 25 grams
  • Sweet potato 25 grams
  • 30 grams of sweet corn
  • 40 grams of coconut sugar
  • 200 ml clean water
  • Coconut milk 200 ml
  • ¼ teaspoon flower of salt
  • 1 teaspoon roasted white sesame seeds
  • 1 – 2 pandan leaves

Method

  • Put water in a pot and place over medium heat. Add pandan leaves.
  • When the water boils, add taro, sweet potato, flower of salt, mixed grains, sweet corn. Mix well. Cover with a lid.
  • When the taro and sweet potato are cooked, add the coconut milk. 
  • When it boils, add coconut sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add ripe bananas, cover for a while, turn off the heat when everything is well blended, scoop into a bowl, sprinkle with roasted white sesame seeds, ready to serve.
